The Vitae Clinic

The Vitae Clinic of Austin is a unique medical practice providing women with state-of-the-art holistic healthcare that adheres to the Ethical and Religious Directives (ERDs) of the Catholic Church. Through the prayers of many and the support of The John Paul II Life Center, the Vitae Clinic began serving patients in October 2010.
At the Vitae Clinic, women benefit from NaProTECHNOLOGY™ (Natural Procreative Technology) — a highly effective medical science that treats the underlying causes of women’s health issues and works in concert with the natural cycle of fertility.
Our Services
Obstetrics
Our clinic provides a full range of obstetrical services for women from pre-conception to prenatal, delivery and postnatal care. Our services also include miscarriage prevention and high-risk pregnancy care. We offer the latest in 3D/4D ultrasound technology.
Gynecology
We treat women from adolescence to post-menopause. Our services include routine gynecologic care as well as treatment for gynecologic issues such as premenstrual syndrome, painful periods, ovarian cysts, unusual bleeding, endometriosis, hormonal issues and uterine fibroids.
Infertility
We offer natural and cooperative treatments for infertility through NaProTECHNOLOGY™ . Research indicates that women with infertility issues — including those with anovulatory infertility, polycystic ovarian disease, endometriosis, or tubal occlusion — all have statistically significantly higher pregnancy rates when treated using NaProTECHNOLOGY™ .
Clinic Philosophy
We are called to deliver quality care for our patients in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. Our practice is in full compliance with the Ethical and Religious Directives (ERDs) for Catholic healthcare services. And because we hold the dignity of every human being, born and unborn, in the highest regard, we do not provide artificial contraceptives, provide or refer for abortions or use methods of achieving pregnancy that contradict the Catholic directives. We welcome patients of all faiths and backgrounds.

The Sonogram Center
The Vitae Clinic performs sonograms that give women an incredible peek at their precious miracle — with amazingly detailed images in 3D/4D. Thanks to the generosity of the Knights of Columbus, The John Paul II Life Center purchased a SonAce X8 Sonogram Machine by Medison. This is advanced ultrasound technology, which we use to conduct sonograms on women facing unexpected pregnancies, as well as patients of the Vitae Clinic.

Using the latest ultrasound technology, our sonograms capture even the facial features of an unborn baby, with rich 3D/4D images.
Help Women Choose Life
Research shows that an overwhelming majority of women who view a sonogram choose life for their unborn children. But many women facing unexpected pregnancies cannot afford the cost of a sonogram (approximately $400).

Education
The John Paul II Life Center is committed to reaching out to today’s culture which often lacks the understanding of the great love and happiness God desires for each of us. We particularly strive to reach young people who are on the threshold of their adult lives and young married couples with growing families.
Our first educational outreach was “The Silver Ring Thing – Catholic Edition” which promotes purity and abstinence until marriage in a rock concert-style format. Over 600 middle and high school students attended this event which was co-sponsored by the Diocese of Austin and St. Michael’s Catholic Academy. Another 200 parents attended the concurrent parent’s session.
We also offer and facilitate Natural Family Planning classes, birthing classes and an infertility support group, Sarah’s Hope, through the Vitae Clinic.
“Purity desires only to love and never to use the other. Purity is not only the capacity to act chastely and overcome lust; it is at the same time the control of one’s body in holiness and honor.” –Blessed Pope John Paul II
